That lens falls away from focus to bokeh so fast, the flowers in the pot picture has no transition at all. I like it. _________________ LENSES & CAMERAS FOR SALE.....

The L/Z means it is the M42 version or just that it is coated? I like this lens a lot, I have the LTM version. _________________ Moira, Moderator

L/Z means it was made for Zenit cameras in m42 mount
L/D version is different and in m39 mount _________________ my tools:Oly E-M5 + 45mm/1.8 + Oly E-520 + 12-60 + 14-42 + 70-300 + Sigma 105mm + FL-50R + EC20 + SRF-11 ring flash

I add that it exists both an MC version (more recent) and without MC (single coated ?)
I prefer the one without MC (with my samples) _________________ "Plonger les choses dans la lumière, c'est les plonger dans l'infini" Léonard De Vinci

If you look closely the focus is slightly ahead of the flowers & that is why it falls of so drastically behind them.
In focus:
1/3 ahead of focal point
2/3 behind focal point. _________________ Ron

i see that you have industar 61 L/D lens, mine is L/Z and those are two completely different lenses
for L/D minimum focus distance is 1m and for L/Z is 0,3m, that's why you can't focus so close to the subject
also L/D focal length is 53-55mm (depending on the production series) and L/Z is 50mm
here is L/D version, and you can see the minimum focus distance

here is L/Z version (like my lens)

to tell you the truth i don't remember, when i shoot i start off wide open and stop it down when needed, i don't really keep track...but i think flowers in the pot were 1 stop closed, and the last photo might be wide open because it was taken in the shade at the sunset _________________ my tools:Oly E-M5 + 45mm/1.8 + Oly E-520 + 12-60 + 14-42 + 70-300 + Sigma 105mm + FL-50R + EC20 + SRF-11 ring flash
