one thing with this lens , it's m42 mount but only automatic, so unless you have an adapter that can press the pin on the mount you can use it only wide open...i had this lens for a while, but just recently dad of my ex-girlfriend made me a metal ring that i could fit into my m42>4/3 adapter, so now i was finally able to test this lens , along some others that were also only automatic _________________ my tools:Oly E-M5 + 45mm/1.8 + Oly E-520 + 12-60 + 14-42 + 70-300 + Sigma 105mm + FL-50R + EC20 + SRF-11 ring flash

Wonderful shots! Which camera did you use to take these pictures?
I'm very much disappointed with the Canon EOS crop cameras,
as their focussing mechanism (focussing screen and AF confirmation)
are awful, worse than the most primitive film SLR.
Unless you focus through LiveView, you will miss the point in macro work.
My idea is that the Pentax DSLRs are perhaps best or what is your experience
in macro work? |

This is very easily solved with a piece of rubber that you fit inside regular m42 to jam the pin.
Nice shots, by the way! _________________ Many lenses and some film bodies for sale here: http://forum.mflenses.com/canon-fd-minolta-md-c-mounts-m42-pentax-and-more-t50465.html

those shots were made with Olympus E-M5. with it's magnify option you can fine tune the focus while viewing through EVF. _________________ my tools:Oly E-M5 + 45mm/1.8 + Oly E-520 + 12-60 + 14-42 + 70-300 + Sigma 105mm + FL-50R + EC20 + SRF-11 ring flash

i solved that by adapting one of my m42 to 4/3 adapters, adding a black metal ring into it. but, as i now use m4/3 cam , when i bought the adapter from ebay, i made sure that it already has a flange to press the aperture pin _________________ my tools:Oly E-M5 + 45mm/1.8 + Oly E-520 + 12-60 + 14-42 + 70-300 + Sigma 105mm + FL-50R + EC20 + SRF-11 ring flash

The Olympus E-M5 seems to have some nice features ideally suited for macro work and your pictures prove that its focussing array is precise. |
