today I was going to win at least one of 2 auctions:

Yeah, I won both! After winning the first one for $101.85, I decided to
bid on the second with a high bid of $82.50. Was I surprised....

Isn't it MADDENING!!! It happened to me a few months ago. If it consoles you, Bill, I happen to know for certain that you definitely wouldn't have won the second one if you hadn't won the first.
Anyway, congratulations on your captures. They both look in really good condition but the square case for the first one indicates it's more recent. I think you're going to enjoy using this lens. |

Test them first and if think the same than me ("This is an amazingly good lens") keep both, you able to sell any time if you change of your mind. _________________ -------------------------------

Thanks, Peter and Attila,
In my defense, I didn't know (vendor still hasn't answered) what mount
the first one is, but the 2nd was clearly stated a Nikon mount which I
have the adapter for. I'll most probably keep both unless one has
something seriously wrong with it, whereupon I would be talking to the
seller. I've seen some really dazzling pictures taken with this lens and
thought it might also double as a good "fish pic" lens. I still want to get
a copy of the 90/2.5 macro.

Bill, the first seller is Rocky. Look him up (member446885) in the bad sellers on both forums. The main complaint against him is the lack of communication. I don't think he's dishonest, but he buys and sells so much stuuff, he doesn't have time to check or test it or write decent descriptions, and he doesn't send emails very often. However, many people have good things to say about him too. This lens is a late copy, still with its original box and case, and the strap is still in its wrapper, so the chances are high that it's in perfect nick. I'd certainly have gone for it myself.
PS It looks as though there is no mount on this lens. I have an Adaptall2 Nikon mount which I'll never use so if you need it let me know. |

Thanks for the offer, Peter, that might also explain the lack of reply.
Attila, I have a wait and see attitude, but was thinking if it performed
like I hope, that procuring the 90/2.5 macro is not such a driven thing.
Thanks for your comments, guys.
