Any experience ?

It's a very good lens and only the aperture F5.6 is not so good
I get it because it's light (610g)

A sample on the beach, equivalent to 480mm, very big for me

I read this lens is good for macro, I was not impressed but maybe I didn't work this lens enough.

I don't have any 300mm but you can compare this sample with the leica @ 200mm

Couldn't you go back and find it? Smile

It's a begger when that happens - it was nearly a perfect shot.

Isn't it one of your best lens ?
The one you say on mflense, it is sharoer than Nikon 300 or Carl Zeiss 300 ?

i did not buy one some weeks ago, for 130euros. What do you think about the price ?

I know, but it's a snapshot, it's part of the game. The energy and life and the moment are all captured there and this is what counts.
If you did cut that hand on a posed portrait, that would be different! Wink

Hi Nelson
Don't forget that on your 350d it will be quite dark at F5.6
With liveview it will be a pleasure to use such lens even at F11
I think 130 euros is expensive

I use a Tamron 300 f5.6 on it http://forum.mflenses.com/tamron-auto-300mm-f5-6-t4674.html
and it is not as dark.

as this Tamron is a very pleasant lens, i have no doubt i would like the SP version

Attila,

The mirror lens is the 350/5.6 SP. It's also a great lens -- like every other Tamron Adaptall SP lens...

Here's a sample (sorry for those who have already seen it):

Cheers!

http://adaptall-2.com/ has all the answers. It's worth checking the site out to get an idea of what's worth having or not. The site seems to be down at the moment, but try later.

there has been an older version -which doesn't have the 'SP' in it's name...

As for the question of optical quality:
I made some comparison shots against the Tamron SP 60-300 and the AF (shame on me - such a thing in the mflenses-forum... Sigma APO 70-300.
The 5.6/300 was by far the best of these.
Even wide opened.
The Sigma had to be stopped down by 2 f-stops to get the same sharpness... the Tamron 60-300 at least 1 f-stop.

IIRC there just appeared such a lens on ebay.de ....

Smile Paul

I almost bought one locally for $60...I should have jumped on it, but I was putting my money into the Rollei 6006. I wish now I would have just bit the bullet and bought the 300. Beautiful lens poilu - and beautiful images! Wow!

The "snapshot" is wonderful! The "missing" hand is NOTHING compared to the moment you have captured. I would think the young boy would TREASURE a small enlargement of the image.... Wink What person wouldn't want to see himself having fun? Very Happy
