These are pics of the lens and from the lens.

They are straight from camera (test shots) with NO PP whatsoever other than that applied in-camera as they are JPGs and resizing to abide by forum rules...

In the flower set the point of focus was the leading petal on the iris, on the truck photos it was the right hand edge of the spare tire carrier.

I noticed some CA (purple fringing) on the tire carrier along the upper edge, even at f8 and the light was overcast and not too contrasty.. otherwise the lens seems fine as an optical device and the focus seems quite reasonable, smooth and accurate?

I'm surprised that there is a sticker on this lens. That implies it was made before 1990! Therefore, this lens should be in the adaptall-2.org site but isn't . . . yet.

I am very grad when I saw the long lost sibling ie. Tamron 47a for my PRAKTICAR(s).

Here is mine>
This one is closer to the original 47a, I guess. It has power zoom too, but cannot do this at the same time with AF.


This lens starts AF automatically whenever I half-press the shutter button of any PRAKTICA PB camera.
The circuit of this lens senses the electric current in the camera through three electric contacts on the lens, which is used for aperture.

A sample shot at F5.6 & 200mm end, looks surprisingly good with Canon 5D + AF55-200/4.5.


I have long suspected these lenses were made by Tamron, now it has been proved. Cool
