I had one and it's a well built lens, and good performance for a zoom. They were very popular and are hence quite common so I wouldn't pay too much for one, but they're very decent lenses. _________________ Richard

The SP 70-210 can vary a lot in price, but if there's not an SP available, this 103A is a fine lens for not a lot of money.
I've just got an SP and it's nice, but I've had a 103A for years and found it pretty good. _________________ Dave - Moderator

Yes minimal distortion at either end, a little soft wide open but very sharp from 5.6. There's a touch of zoom creep if you point it at a very steep angle but minimal. It's a very good performer if not quite as good as the excellent SP - I've seen them sell for around 7-10 gbp without mounts and at that price it's a steal. _________________ Richard

This lens is unsellable as usual going for nothing and not bad at all, but I suggest you also take instead an SP lens. _________________ -------------------------------
