"slightly above average performance" this is true from adaptall-2.com. I need make more room in my lens storage. So I decided I sell many of them to buy new ones. I rare use wide-angle lenses and I have at least 10 pcs 28mm lens. 28mm x 2 on my Olympus ?! not usable at all.

My copy is very good, but not wide open.
At f/2.5 is has loads of vignetting, it's unuseable. At f/4 still has some, but become useable if you shoot digital and correct with PTLens. At f/5.6 it is nearly free from vignetting and performing excellent.
The sharpness and detail are top notch. I rate them second only to Leica.
I have quickly tested the geometrical fidelity this morning (by pure chance), and it's acceptable, on par with more fashionable lenses such as Nikon (but far from the pureness of Fleks)
It also shows some propensity for rendering the now (in)famous) 3D-effect. I will test more on this as I am interested.
Overall I like this lens and I will keep it.
I think that this is a good buy to make.
Only, you do not have to consider it a f/2.5 - consider it a f/4

Here's the geometrical test shot I took this morning:
As you can see, there is some barrel distortion, but it's really noticeable only at the top and bottom of the frame, the center is more than acceptable.
Look attentively at the image, there is something nice hidden

I shortly was thinking about buying it from Attila (it is a very nice price!), but I already have three rather good MF 28mm lenses and the EF 2.8/28 is also no bad lens.
Any lens I buy from now on will have to be considerably better than those I already have (unless I find a bargain that I almost get for free  ) - and this means I will have to spent a lot of money!
So I will pass on this Tamron...

I tested this lens with 2x crop camera Olympus E-1 not every lens perform same well than with less crop factor. For example Tamron SP 70-210mm f/3.5 19AH was superb with Nikon D50 and less good with Olympus E-1. Might be this is the reason why I not found good enough to keep it.
I suppose I will increase the price a bit in my ebay shop and keep this price 17 GBP + shipping for forum members.
