Hope the translation was not too bad. Seems to be an ok lens for the price. However, postage cost more than the lens! |

I like it very much.
It's an interesting lens with close focusing distance, unusual optical concept.
After some time to get used to it, it's very good to use. You'll like or hate the special button which let you enter in closest mode.
With such apertures, it needs good light.

That pretty much covers all the focal lengths I use and being adaptall I can use it on all my cameras.
Perhaps I should get one and sell all my other lenses? _________________ Casual attendance these days |

Well...apart from its slow speed....

Are the optics related to the Minolta AF 28-135 4-4.5? (is it 28? or 24?)
That lens is much loved and goes for triple digits
Just a thought because of the unusual 4-4.5 |

I don't think so.
The optical designs are different.
I forgot to mention that the Tamron is a "pump" zoom.
Here is a review of the Minolta AF 28-135 4-4.5

Those "old" Tamron Adaptall-2 lenses never fail to amaze!
You could built a complete high-quality set from SP lenses and complement with the odd non SP version.
Look at this set:
SP 17mm F/3.5
SP 24-48mm F/3.5-3.8
SP 35-80mm F/2.8-3.8
SP 80-200mm F/2.8
SP 300mm F/2.8 LD-IF
And perhaps those as well:
24mm F/2.5
135mm F/2.5
SP 180mm F/2.5 LD-IF
All that's missing is a fast 50mm, so add a Zeiss Planar 1.4/50 and you're done for good! _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!
