Following my last post regarding a 135mm companion for my A7, a Tamron Adaptall 03B has found its way to my small MF collection, together with a Nikon adaptall-2 adapter. Nicely retro design, light and compact, and proudly announcing a 1.2m "close focus" mfd. Yesterday I put it on my A7 and took it out for a stroll, and I am pleasantly surprised by the way it handles and renders. Here's some results:
1. In bright light it struggles a bit, but Lightroom got answers for that
2. May also be suitable for portraits (but I didn't encounter any persons)
3.Sharpness at infinity to me is excellent, and no traces of pf
4. Enough aperture blades to create nice oof highlight balls
5. I like its bokeh
6. Not at its closest focus, but close enough
I think I found my favourite 135mm. |
