It focuses perfectly to about 2 meters, but not infinity. Does anyone know how to set infinity on this lens? I suspect I need to slacken the 'B' screw which allows the adjustment, the clearance around screws 'A' seems to indicate that?
Or is it as simple as loosening the outer focus ring ? there are three grub screws securing the ring, and the infinity mark doesn't quite line up.
It's a lovely lens and I don't want to wreck it.

In the taks I opened there are two sets of 3 screws behind the nameplate: one holds the optical block, the other holds the filter ring.
The screws that link focus ring to focus helicoid are usually behind that. Assuming that it's the same here, I'd unscrew B, but the layout in this case looks a bit different, so I'm not sure. _________________ C&C and editing of my pics are always welcome

Yes, I've done other Tak's before and that's what I expected, but this macro 50 has a really deep inset to the front element and it's a pre set lens with the aperture rings on the front - but I don't think the aperture will be affected if I slacken the screws, I can see how the aperture works.
I might get brave tomorrow and slack the screws. _________________ LENSES & CAMERAS FOR SALE.....

I will be interested in how you get on. I have a 35mm f/3.5 Super TAK that worked fine but suddenly only focuses to half a metre. I need to try and fix mine. I am in the same position where i am unsure which screws to loosen. There seems to be a few how to's but they don't specify using pics which 3 screws do what! _________________ D600,Helios 44 58/2,Helios 44-2 58/2, Pentacon 29mm 2.8,Super Tak 35mm 3.5 (broken) Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar Zebra 50mm 2.8, Super Tak 55mm F/2, Pentacon 135mm 2.8 Preset (Bokeh Monster) |

this is the guide for the 24, but your 35 should be exactly the same:

The 35mm should be the same as the 24 in the link, it's a simpler lens design altogether and fairly easy to do, although it can be time consuming to keep trying and adjusting.
The 50 macro is shimmed behind the optical block - I have removed two shims so far and it is damn nearly right. The three shims in the lens are all different thickness and I think I still need swop the shim I have in for the thinnest one.
Why any lens should need nearly 0.5mm of shims removing is a mystery though? I shall post pictures when I get around to finishing it. _________________ LENSES & CAMERAS FOR SALE.....
