thanks Attila

do you have any sample shot from this lens for portraiture?

Unfortunately no, but it has creamy bokeh and pretty sharp. I think it will be quiet good for portrait too, but might be a bit long.

I own a black copy TA?r-11A . Bought brand new , complete. Contrast is slightly lower than the j-37 , but results are very pleasant . I made no portraits with it , unfortunayely ! Here you are !

yes I definatly agree about the lower contrast. It has only become a factor with B&W film but an orange filter can sometimes deal with that (you will get that with the tair 11A set). It is wonderful for portraits when wide open, otherwise it is far far to sharp (at least if your someone who likes softer portraits). In fact I bought a soft filter just for this lens. I've heard the tair 11 (not A) is a tad softer, which, if your looking to do some portrait work, may be right up your alley. The focal length, either 133mm or 135mm in this case, is in my opinion fine for portraiture. It's just a few steps back from a 85mm or 100mm.

It is one of my favourite Russian lenses!

Tair-11 133mm is softer wide open.

I apologise for my long absence in the forum. I bought my Tair-11A (in very good condition) with original leather case and set of filters for ~30 €. I wrote about this lens in this topic (second and third page): http://forum.mflenses.com/tair-11a-sample-gallery-t1745.html

Some other shots from Tair-11A:

IMHO results are pleasant, sharpness is quite good, bokeh looks nice.
