I have a Spotmatic that needs the meter adjusted. I need to know how to remove the film winder and the film reminder dial to get to the adjustment port. Anyone have the information on how to remove them? I've looked and don't see any obvious way to get them off the camera.

If you want "everything" about Spotmatic service, here it is -

http://www.pentax-manuals.com/manuals/service/spot_sm.pdf

The film winder -

There is a black cap over it held on by three little screws along the edge. Unscrew them (well, just loosen them, you dont want to lose the little &&^%). The cap lifts off. The rest is pretty simple.

The film reminder dial -
- First remove the rewind crank. Open the back, lift the crankshaft up partially. Insert a screwdriver in the split end of the shaft to keep it from rotating and you can unscrew the crank head off.
- The reminder dial is held on by a nut with two holes in it. You will need a a compass or bettern snap ring pliers.

Adent,

If you have to disassemble a Spotmatic to fix the lightmeter, please do visit this thread:

Peterqd did a bright job explaining the process of disassemblying the camera, and put plenty of pictures.

Regards.
