Hi!
Here are some shots from my last vacation in France (Brittany and Normandy), with my (Nikon converted) Angenieux lenses, 2,5/90mm and 4,5/180mm, mounted on Nikon D700.
Not fast lenses but lovely lenses with nice colour rendition and smooth bokeh Very Happy :
Angenieux 2.5/90mm (all wide open except #3):

Nice, good separation of subjects from the background and they look very sharp at this magnification.

In the second one you can see the bokeh circles have quite a distinctive bright ring and central dot, which is a bit unfortunate for such a famous name.

Thanks also for your comment but I'm not sure to understand what you means about the bokeh on the #2 Confused .....

+1 especially nice family shoot on beach.

Can I ask you for high resolution samples (2560px wide) ? I wish to put them to mflenses.com/gallery

Well, if you try to find it on e-bay, that's for sure verry expensive...I was lucky to find them locally for a very affordable price but the lenses are far to be in mint condition and above that, they are converted to Nikon so I guess the collector value is not so high anymore......except for Nikon users of course Very Happy .....

I don't see any problem about that except may be for the picture of my family .....Is 1200px not big enought?? otherwise I have to use the raw and converted them with 2560px wide....And do I have to send it via PB??

Take out family pictures from batch and if they are not there for others I think no problem high resolution. I make an own account for you at Gallery and you able to upload to own folder and I will link them to French Lenses. Please make own folder to each lenses and try to upload at least 8 samples to each. Many thanks! I will pm details to you soon.

In the second one, if you look at the bokeh circles beside the chain hanging from the yellow cup they have a a very obvious bright ring and a central spot. In a modern high-priced lens, you would look for a smooth gradation and no dot, as that is considered less distracting. It's all about personal preferences in the end, of course.

Paul, you sure what you're writing about? I think all is absolutely correct .. that dot might be a real small subject - that dot doesn't occur anywhere else or there are not too many of these 'dots'

Why is that dot not in all bokeh circles then?

Ok Paul, thanks for your explanation.
Well, I must say that I did not noticed that before you talked about it Rolling Eyes...So you are probably right, this lens is definitively not as good as a modern high-prices lens Crying or Very sad ......but I think I will keep it anyway, the lens is just good enough for my amateur using Very Happy ......
