Don't forget the Fuji DL Zoom - 28 to 50mm, very sharp at the wide end and not bad at the longer. I managed to break mine a while ago, which was a pity. Theres also a later version going from 24 to 50. I have one somewhere . . . stored safely somewhere in the house!

I've yet to finish the roll, but hope to see some good results. Zoom goes from 28-56mm:

Also called the Tiara in EevrOpah. Smile

However Nikon Lite touch Zoom 70WS has 28 - 70mm AF (5.6 - 10) is an option I would prefer the guess focusing Olympus XA4 (28mm 3.5) for most applications.

Other zoom with more features then the Nikon: Minolta 70W (28 - 70 AF, 3.5 - 8.4).

What do you think would be the smallest pocket camera with a sharp 28mm or wider lens? Strictly film camera, of course Wink

I'm looking for a take-everywhere camera. I really like the Rollei 35B, but at 40mm the lens is not wide enough.

+1 about liking the Rollei 35; the mechanical parts will remain usable/repairable long after many electronics-based cameras have expired Wink

Not the smallest, but for 28mm I like the Olympus XA4.
For a 'cheap and cheerful' 28mm point-and-shoot, the Olympus Trip 505 can be found, at the time of writing, in the UK, new at almost 'thrift shop' prices. It has a glass triplet lens, and the built-in flash can be turned off.

Well, I finally found something. A bit different to what I was really looking for. I found a mint Canon Sure Shot A1 for 4.99 GBP. Lens is 32mm, so not as wide as I wanted. But seeing as it is for use when I am out walking the dogs or out riding a bike ride, I don't need to worry about it getting wet, or if I fall in a river Confused

Not very small! But funny indeed. Congrats!
I have a Konica Mermaid for that kind of work, with 35mm 3.5.
