Hi, my first post. I found an old post regarding cleaning fungus from an old Sigma Mini Wide 28mm that was very informative, but now seems to be locked (it was quite old) I followed the procedures as best I could, but there must have been some model changes during the time of manufacture as I found that the only way I could get in was to remove the front ring to get to the lens elements. I managed this ok & the glass is now sparkling clean, but on reassembly focus is way off. One of the previous posters mentioned that it is easy to get the small inner lens back to front - but I’ve checked both ways. In the process of getting into the lens I dismantled the helical, so gave that a good clean & after a few false starts seem to have that back together correctly. I wonder if anyone would have an exploded diagram or manual for this lens? I feel that I am very close, but missing something that is probably quite simple. Thanks in advance, Derek.

Welcome Derek

Helical threads have more than one start on positions; keep trying until correct for proper focus.

Thanks for the response, I should have been more careful with my notes when disassembling, but I suppose that I didn’t really know what to look out for till too late. Yes I counted 9 entry points on both helical tubes, most come nowhere near the correct movement. Currently I have the focus moving quite nicely within the limits of the little brass stud which stops rotation. Ah well, lucky I enjoy messing about & learning as I go. The lens came as part of a bundle so really owes me nothing - I tried it on some Astro photography & found it very promising, so will keep at it. Thanks again for the advice.
