Great price I think. Does anyone have an opinion on this lens?

This appears to be the non-Apo version of this lens (the apo version has apo written on the tripod collar). I remember lens tests of that era showing a marked difference in resolution between the apo and non-apo versions. I'd go for a apo version or the apo tele-macro version (later, 77mm filter).

I have used this lens or APO version see samples in mflenses.com/gallery one of the best 400mm lens what I had. Very sharp, render beautiful colors and lightweight. I loved much! I had also an early variant labeled MC in black finish it was super crap! Congrats for this beautiful lens! You got for less than half price!
