Nice shots from the boxcam, Paul. So -- what's the problem? Your framing's good. Looks to me like you're handling 6x6 just fine.

Me, I actually like it because I feel it gives me more room for framing possibilities. I'm not as constrained as I otherwise would be. And if I have to crop for a rectangular format for printing or something, it always seems like I'm losing a lot.

Back in a bit. I'm gonna get on my other 'puter.

I was going to resupply with Tmax, but my shop was out of it. I got a bag of D76 instead. The Tmax is almost twice as expensive for the same volume of mixed developer, but it is so easy to mix up, and I have really liked the open tonal range with Arista Premium and Acros 100 ...

Oh yeah, Andy, I'd be using a cable release but the A is not standard in that regard. I don't mind the tripod at all. It suits me just fine for the square stuff, which is so much more deliberate for me.

Oh, Oh, yeah: Thanks Michael, for your kind words.

I just discovered in the past couple of days I see the square viewfinder so much better with a shirt thrown over my head when framing and focusing. It comes ALIIIIIIIVE!

That can help a lot. I always use the pop-out magnifier with my Yashica so I have my head right over the top of the camera and the focusing screen. Otherwise, I'd be range focusing -- guessing, hoping, and praying. Cool

Well, I got sidetracked with my better half for several hours. Had to do some shopping. So anyway, I'm just getting back to sorting through the hard drives on my computer. I have five partitions in which images are stored, so this may take a while . . .

These are from the first roll through my 'new to me' Yashica LM on Arista EDU 100. The meter is even accurate!

Gary, what a luxury to have a working meter in a medium format camera!
Nice set!

Paul, colors look good to me in your set.

Here are a few of my color Yashica A:

Epson 4490 scans

I'll be taking these down and posting new stuff in a week.

First one in this set is really wow Bill.
I did not realize the A has a triplet for a lens. The 2nd really has that character.
Maybe I'm wrong. Hope you leave these up as well as your new ones coming.

Andy, yes, it's a Cooke triplet, Yashikor 3.5/80 lens, but definitely one of
the better performing triplets around. Sure, I can leave these up, just
wanted to leave more space for newer stuff.

Gary, really nice shots, especially the bottom one.

Cool, I use the magnifier, too, then double check the whole frame with the magnifier swung out of the way ...

Keep em coming Spleeno!
To bad the 1st is damaged. Even so it's quite an interesting frame.
The second the focus on the mother and stroller would be much better.

I'm weird. I like the bench one, Splee. So, get out yer PP brush or clone or whatever you call it get get rid on those strings and dust motes. The bench is 3D ...

Bill, that daisy shot is a buster.

Now, here is a double or triple exposure from the Yashica A. This one was done on purpose:

Paul, thanks, you need to try some color with the Yashica-A. A few more
and a BDub:

with Yashica-A

TriX 400/HC-110B

I'll definitely be taking these down when I get some new pix.

Caramba, that color is nice.
I ordered one of those little screw-in cable release adapters. With that, I will finally be able to use the A with some small apertures ...

Hello, I felt my... eyes burning... Hey, since this is in the TLR section, we're only doing TLR, right Laughing

This is a '38 Chevy that I worked on a few years ago. I installed a Mustang II IFS system and the blower on its 327.

YashicaMat 124G, Velvia 50, February 2008

I scanned the neg using a demo version of ViewScan, which imprinted the dollar signs. I was going to dump it but then I thought, hey it looks kind of apt, this being taken at a marina on the River Thames, UK's answer to Monaco! Smile

Some very nice squares, Jussi, love the colors in the pumpkins and we can
pass the hat around for Lilly's shoes. Laughing

Gary, excellent work on the car and nicely preserved memories on Provia!

Peter, how do you like Vuescan? Dollar signs are a hoot looking at the
moored 'money pits'. Wink

Cool $signs! They say the two happiest days of a boat owner are: The day they buy it and the day its sold. Smile

I love this kind of thread! Keep posting guys!

I didn't think it was worth investing in it Bill. It worked a little quicker than Epson Scan and is certainly more user-friendly, but I couldn't see any picture difference. Epson does the job OK for me but I wish it didn't hog so much memory.
