Wow. I was wondering how anything could be sharper than my Yashica Mat's Yashinon, but now I see. I think I'll be adding a Diacord to my collection one of these days. Smile Any tips on which models are the best?

Thanks, I like it Smile

The earlier Ricoh TLRs are also decent, but not as advanced as the Diacord (aka Diamond or Dia)... Basically you have the G and the L, the L has a meter and I know at least one of these that's bouncing around here - Bill and Orio (?) I think had the Dia L.

Basically, the G has more aperture blades but the L has the meter. Both are semi-automatic, you push a button to advance the frame with a knob, and cock the shutter separately. It does have auto stop and a frame counter.

Early on I did a comparison of the Diacord to the Mat:
http://www.yashicaforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=146

Here's an excellent summary page
http://www.angelfire.com/ca/erker/ricohflex.html

The thing to watch out for, just as with the Autocords, is a stiff focusing mechanism. In the case of the Diacord this is in form of a teeter-totter opposing pair of handles on both sides of the lens board.

Once I have my Autocord up and running I'll run a test with that as well Smile

Excellent detail and tones, Jussi! Here are a couple from my 2nd Mamiyaflex
C2, with the old amber coated 3.5/105 Sekor, not the Heliar:

TMAX 400, Thornton's 2-Bath homebrew, 5+5, 20C, 1200dpi Epson 4490

The first is a little fogged. I had a roll of 35mm loaded in my only
Paterson tank, so spooled this roll and covered with two black plastic
grocery bags then placed in a box with flaps folded, wasn't enough to
be light tight. All frames weren't affected as in the 2nd. Both pix are
uncropped.

Really love what you are doing with the Diacord Jussi. Grat stuff!!

Bill that first pic is a beauty. The fogging definetly gives a sort of atmosphere that is very nice. I love it!

This was my thought too, way better than Yashica. I believe good as than top Rolleiflex lenses.

Wow, Jussi -- I just assumed those were slide photos until I saw where you had written "Ektar." Very nice. The saturation of the sky in that first photo seemed to have "slide" written all over it. Cool

Rawhead, absolutely wonderful series!

Jussi, great results with Ektar, need to try it in 120, excellent color work!

@Andy and Jussi, thanks, just piddling about.

Thanks and the pictures are indeed taken along the Oudegracht (= "Old Canal") in the innercity of Utrecht.

First roll so of course Hugo gets the duty at Model.
Great Camera! The f4/135 at Viewing and taking lens makes focus so snappy.
This one is a beauty. Even the meter works and is spot on (with normal light).

Interesting. I didn't realize the Tele-Rollei's 135mm was a swirly bokeh lens. Great 3D effect with your last shot.
