Here's the whole family - the original Canonflex is up front in the middle. It's upscale follow-up, the R2000 with 1/2000 top shutter speed is in rear center. Both these models had exchangeable finders. The later, fixed pentaprism models are the RM with the on-board meter on the left and the RP with no meter on the right
Here's a shot of the original Canonflex with it's mag finder and dedicated bellows. Mounted on the bellows is the 100mm f/3.5, a fine Canon RF lens which was remounted and sold as an "R" lens.
Here is the R2000 with the beautiful f/1.2 normal lens and the clip-on, but shutter speed linked meter - later to become the FL lens of the same focal length and speed.
This is a view of the R2000's top deck - very nicely laid out and uncluttered due to the lack of a wind lever.
Here is the bottom wind lever of the R2000
This is the R2000 in its original case and box. Note that you got a whole kit here: body, lens, meter, case, strap - the works!

Some years ago I found two of those at local shops - one of them is still in working oder, the other one has a jammed shutter. Both are looking pretty nice, though

I am no where near a hardcore collector, mostly because I can't afford to be.

I am in a similar situation with my F-2's. Only one has the complete eye-piece.
I think the FE/FM eye-piece may fit, but I'm beginning to see those cameras missing eye-pieces as well 
Edit: I should add that the above images were taken with another nikkor 50mm f2 on the D-810, at f8 and minimum focus distance.

I'm always astonished how badly the CaNikon DSLRs are dealing with shadows.
It certainly isn't a problem of their respective sensors (the Canon 5DRS being an exception), but then ...
I would rather expect "good" JPGs straight out of such an expensive camera.
A big difference to what I get out the A900, which is a 2008 (!) DSLR.

This is the kind of image that results with no user input into the camera- simple "A" operation in extremely harsh lighting.
I was still very excited over the FT-2 purchase here, and tripped over myself getting images of it made.
I am still experimenting with metering modes as well. I think the camera was set for spot metering here (IIRC), and there was little in the way of allowance for exposure.
I would take a look at the operator's methods before laying blame to the camera...
I am still finding out how much the ex-speed-4 sensor corrects for, and it turns out it's actually quite a bit.
