I know how you feel about waiting for adapters. I knew I was going to buy an A7 and often thought about getting some adapters ordered first but in the end I just pressed the 'pay' button and now I'm left twiddling my fingers and twitching occasionally.

The Nikon F adapter has arrived, and better yet the 35mm 1.4 AIS has infinity focus on the A7 \o/

Strangely though it loses infinity when the same lens and same adapter is used on my NEX6 - why would this happen? It doesn't bother me too much as I use the Lens Turbo on the NEX.

Most of my adapters go past infinity, so hitting infinity is a dream. But the true location when focusing seems aperture dependent.

I will say that lenses behave very different on the A7 than my 5n.

Contax 35/1.4 and 85/1.4 on A7R. Really enjoying this combo -- camera and lens around my shoulder, the other lens in my coat pocket. A few photos -- should be obvious which is 35 and 85. Smile

I did not have high hopes for this old lens, but was really surprised.
Corners are not that good as expected, but overall pretty decent for me.

Looks like its my widest lens for my A7 until I find something else.

Took a look at the high-res version on flickr and I thought it looked darn good.

Couldn't see obvious distortion, did you correct in post or is the lens just like that?

I corrected it in post.
Since there was no profile for this lens, I used one from a Zeiss 18/3.5 which has similar mustache distortion.
Seem to work well enough for this shot.

Meyer Gorlitz Orestor 135mm f/2.8 A7R

It's nice how 135mm lenses who used to be way to long on m43 suddenly are fantastic portrait lenses. No need for hunting expensive 75, 85 or 100m lenses, a cheapo 135mm will do the job Very Happy

my most used 135 on FF is takumar 135/2.5. ironically, i use mostly at f4 and one click down, but very good color and bokeh.
even 300/2.8 will fit for portraits

135mm becomes such a nice potrait focal length on FF
And 135mm lenses are dirt cheap compared to their 85-90mm countparts with comparable DOF.
That's why I'm currently hunting for an good ~135/2 lens like Canon EF 135/2, Nikon 135/2 ED or Sony 135/1.8 Smile

PS: I did use both C/Y Contax 135/2.8 and Leitz Elmarit-R 135/2.8 (II version) on A7 - especially the Elmarit is awesome for potraits due super creamy bokeh, great colors and decent wide open performance Smile
There are many much cheaper and still very good or even better 135mm lenses out there though

You could get the FDn 135/2, but I think I prefer 135/3.5 for their size.

Thats a very good showing from the Samyang 14mm.
Seems to me its one of the cheapest and good options out there (and widest) for a UWA on the A7 at this point.

The CV12 is very usable from the pictures I've seen, much much better than the CV15.

The OLY 135/2.8 is really small but incredible lens

I also have the smaller MD 135/3.5 which is nice, and lighter yet, but just not so veristile.

both on A7

I think f/2.8 is the sweet spot for me as a 135mm on the A7R. It's fast enough and still compact enough and very cheap too. Wink

Nice portraits.

Yes, indeed I find the working distance for 85mm and 135mm to be so much nicer on FF.

I don't tend to shoot wide open that often, but I've found the sweet-spot on this lens is definitely around f2.8 and f4
