Wrong... not a rumour, real !
Try it with longer lenses ... i did it with my FD 2.8/300mm L and my FD 4.5/500mm L and this is an issue.
The other way around... make own experiments to see that instead of posting a report from someone, who is not familiar with teleshooting and stops researching on a simple 80-200mm zoom, where you can clearly seen the differences with a 200mm focal length.
I do have only the A7, but if you don't enable the electronic first shutter option in the menue, you will see this with longer telelenses when trying to shoot at the normal "freehand-formula" t=1/focal length...
The A7r dont have the option of a electronic first shutter in the user menue... _________________ some light-painting lens stuff..

Did you shoot your cv 35 1.2 on the A7R too, and how was it? ( I consider this lens) |
Yes, the CV is the best of the RF 35s except the Leica FLE on the R, but frankly I would use the native 35FE, if I had the choice on that camera.
Small light and really excellent.
Many SLR 35s are less than optimal on the edges as well on the R.
CV 35/1.2 v1 (v1 is better-slightly)

on the A7 the lens is better yet.
For the R I would get all natives available. Then you will have best image quality possible. FE 55 is even better than the 35. _________________ Making MFlenses safe for the letter *L* |

The camerastore give a way the 35mm for free if you buy the A7 or A7R in Norway now, it hurts a little bit when I paid the same amount just for the camera
Is that your house? Timber houses are popular in Norway too, mostly used as cabins these days, but there are quite many who have timber houses as their regular residence too
Thank you for the samples! _________________ Lars | Manuellfokus.no |

haha, you have great attitude. I also thought the native 35 would be boring, but now I see no other 35 will ever beat that one on the A7r. The processor is designed to work with it, and knows the lens.
You can always turn the AF off, LOL.
oh, no not my house. maybe in another life,
one more shot of it, again A7r 35/1.2 v1 @ 1.4

that's the killer Canon LTM 100/2 from about 1963, a match for nearly any high speed 100 today.
but the real sleeper is the other Canon 100 LTM
DSC01625 by unoh7, on Flickr
cheap, weighs nothing, and it's wicked sharp.
Canon LTM 85/1.9 very good, but heavy.

here's the m-rokkor 40/2 and the CV 75/2.5 along side. Both superb.

today I was skiing all day with 40/2 and the OLY 200/5, which is 455 grams WITH adapter. A7 loves the OLY No problem shooting live skiing MF with peaking, even at f/5.
I bought that 200 for the backcountry and my 5n, but was never that happy with it. A7 makes it sing.

The nikon 300 above is pretty big, but I just pulled my Tamron SP 300/5.6 54b back from a loan. It's 661 grams and feels like it was made for the A7; below a test shot yesterday, handheld:

That's not even clean LOL (just looked at the lens again)
Here is the OLY 200/5:

I agree, not the best I have tried
But I still kind of like it, it´s more to hold on to with my big hands and my battery time is X2 now which is good as the battery life with just one really sucks _________________ Lars | Manuellfokus.no |

Yep, I'm going to agree with the battery life rationale, the grip 'may' offer better stability but there is an issue with one of the wheels not being placed in a more user friendly fashion. Never mind, it's been paid for now, onwards we go.*
