I own several lenses from that decade-ago era, and I agree with the fact
that prices have been driven up. Takumar and Super-Takumar lenses
used to sell on the cheap, but when I began looking into acquiring any,
prices were already on the rise.

Even during the time I acquired a few Soligor and Tamron lenses on the cheap,
I was witnessing price increases. The Soligors I own made by Tokina
and the two Tamron lenses I have, are pristine(except for the zoom creep
on the Tamron SP 60-300). The Tammy SP 28-80 is a wonderful walk-around
lens, while the SP 60-300 is a remarkable zoom, with the Soligor 400/6.3
having proved confident on a tripod while shooting
herons and egrets and cormorants from my window.

The Tokina-made Soligor 400/6.3 I purchased for US $29 now sells frequently
for over US $300. The Tokina-made Soligor 75-260 zoom I purchased for US $30
now sells frequently for more than US $300. The Tamron SP 60-300 sells for
far more than the US $60 I paid for mine, and that included a giveaway
of a Soligor 128mm f/2.8 lens which I disassembled and cleaned(also Tokina-made).
I think I paid US $60 for that set of lenses.
The Tamron 28-70 now sells for far more than the US $19 I paid for both copies,
and I've even offered to sell the less-pristine copy here, with no takers.
It shows paint/color wear, with no damage to filter threads.

Takumar lenses are now unreachable for most, Zeiss are a pipe-dream, and the more exotic
lenses are now unobtanium to the masses.
I purchased a used Rokinon 14mm ultra-wide-angle lens a year or so ago,
but that remains in the world of modern MF lenses.

Yeah, I've seen prices driven up crazily since I got into this game years ago.
