Schneider made (makes?) the best large format lenses in the world.
It is also very well known for the enlarging lenses for printing.
In the 35mm photography field, its name was a bit obscured by the other German "giants", but it still produces some beautiful lenses.

Schneider Kreuznach (Kreuznach is the town where the lenses were produced, just like in "Meyer Görlitz") really was one of the best German lens manufacturers. You can't go wrong with an old Schneider lens.

Today Kodak and Samsung boost their digicam lenses with the "Schneider Kreuznach" label.
