I have received this lens in the mail today (more on that in the Manual Focus Lenses section later).

My preliminary verdict: I'm glad that the lens does not behave like my other portrait lenses, but really has its own character. Wide open it has a nice glow around the subject and that really works well in portraits I think (especially in no. 1; no. 2 is at f/2.8 ). However; it sharpens up nicely after a few clicks of the (pre-set) diaphragm. The roof shot is at f/5.6.

What do you think?

Definitely looks like an effective and characterful tool. Very nice lens, very alluring photos.

The glow is out-of-this-world! ... gives a special note to the photographs.

1,6,7 are my faves.
And I especially like #8 ... the sarcastic version on "nederlandse klompen" Wink

Cheers
Tobias

That looks a great lens. I like the portraits and the flora. It seems to do distance well too.

Hey Tobias, those are my humble (and plastic) clogs Laughing

I think the lens' Ernostar roots, designed by Ludwig Bertele, are clearly visible in my test shots. I have googled on the Ernostar design and indeed the bokeh looks similar. Quite nice to have this lens in my collection!

model is beautiful, light was perfect, portrait are great and even little 3D
the nature shots are not really usable for me

Crocs? (shoes) picture is like 3D for me very nice.

I have a MF lens called Katana 135mm 2.8, i don't know which brand it's, might it be Sankyo? Does anybody know about this lens?

The lens does have a certain amount of charm and the pictures are of course great.

Everyone wears crocs here in the US!

The glow is very interesting. Bokeh is not the best possible, but it has certain “vintage” charm. At least this lens has unique character.

I just love this glow! Excellent!
This gives so much more to a picture than absolute sharpness.

The bokeh is good, not perfect, but the lens handles even the tricky parts in the bg well.

Fantastic new acquisition!

The glow very nice. Bokeh in some of the photos very distracting though.

The glow is special, I like the portraits, less so the flora.
