I have one too. But currently underutilized I am in the middle of exploring other lenses.
I've tested this lens with other top 80/85mm portrait lenses and this lens has the creamiest bokeh of them all. Creamier than AF Sigma 85/1.4 and AF Nikon 85/1.4-D. Only Canon 85LII can match that lens
By the way, I just looked at my lens and just realized that Samyang doesn't have lens serial number (?), or it's only my lens? _________________ Carl Zeiss Jena: Biotar 58/2 1Q, DDR Pancolar 80/1.8 MC, Biotar 75/1.5, Biotar 10cm/2, DDR Sonnar 135/3.5 MC

I have one myself but it is badged a Vivitar Series 1. For portraits and small group shots it is almost unbeatable. Especially at the small cost to purchase one. _________________ Big Dawg |

Yes, fine lens - but I had it with PK/A-mount and I got some serious overexposure when wide opened!
Sharpness has been better than my Jupiter 2.0/85.
- sold it due to the overexposure problem on my Pentax (K-7) when opened > 2.8 and from 2.8 the Tamron 2.8/70-200 had better sharpness. _________________ Paul

I agree! This lens is specific, it have some "cold mood" and great brightness
framing is fucked up, but the overall mood of this picture is great! and I didn't have to change too much, just basic processing:)

Yes you right Currently I am in the process of exploring, testing and selecting those lenses. My plan is exactly like what you said, selling the lenses that I don't like or doesn't have special characters or have similar or redundant character with other lenses, and keep the favorite ones.
The big big problem is most of them have unique character and specialty that my head is spinning to choose which one to go
Anyway, the Samyang is gonna stay. I need it if I want super-creamy bokeh _________________ Carl Zeiss Jena: Biotar 58/2 1Q, DDR Pancolar 80/1.8 MC, Biotar 75/1.5, Biotar 10cm/2, DDR Sonnar 135/3.5 MC

Excellent lens. Really, the only question I still have is build quality, how long can it keep up this sort of performance? Looking good! _________________ ---------------------------------

In my opinion it is well-made, it's not this same class as Zeiss or Canon, but for a plastic stuff is one of the best made I've ever seen:) Ask me in 2020, I'll tell You is it in one piece and is it still so good;) _________________ Canon 40D
