My first purchase of 2012.

It was an FD mount, I (butchered) converted it to EF. I still need to figure out how to get infinity focus.

Here's some sample (nothing fancy... if only we were in summer -_-)

#1 300watt cfl bulb... f???

#2 Yongnuo Flash f5 or f8

#3 Yongnuo Flash f5 or f8

#4 Yongnuo Flash f11 or more

#5 Yongnuo Flash f8 or more

edit : Btw, 1/200 shutter speed with the flash.

Some more sample.

It's part of my cat Wink

All with my Flash at 1/200 speed. Sorry for not keeping track of the f-stop. I kinda focus at f2.5 and just turn the aperture ring until it looks fine. The flash is TTL so I cheat a little.

#1

#2

#3

They are not crop... just 3 different photo.

I need a better setup Smile. I was using the flash on the camera hot shoe, bouncing of the ceiling. Some of the shot have the flash on 1/128 power with slave trigger :S

And since I didn't put any AF confirm chip on the ef mount, the eTTL kinda guess the stopped down aperture. That's my theory, since the flash wasn't really changing it's power according to light level ;S

I need to get an ettl extension cable and I'll make a softbox of some sort.

This summer I'll get better picture, thanks to the sun!

That is the Vivitar Series 1 90/2.5 Macro made by Tokina. It was also marketed as Rokunar, Elicar and maybe another. Uses a match mated adapter for achieving 1:1.

No, I'm pretty sure this is a completely different lens. The Bokina only came, so far as I know in Vivitar Series 1 90mm f2.5 and Tokina SP 90mm f2.5 markings. This Rokunar lens is a different design that goes 1:1 natively without any adaptor, and can also be found as Elicar, Panagor, and Vivitar lenses with either 90mm f2.5 or f2.8 markings (2.8 for the Vivitar I think, 2.5 for the others). Unlike the S1, which was made by Tokina, this one was made by Komine.

Ah, if it's the same as the Vivitar f/2.8, then you are correct.

You are definitely right. I searching for 2-3 days about this lens before buying it. You can find more info online searching for the Elicar or Panagor version.

Here's what I found :
1:1 macro without any adapter.
Prone to flaring.
Sharp when slowed down.

From my personal test, I can say it's a really nice lens for macro!
