I've removed this lens from the R1 camera to remount for use on MUILC but the inner two elements fell out and I have no idea what order and orientation they go in.
I've searched high and low and found nothing - does anyone have a picture of the lens schematic to show me how this thing does back together? _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

Aren't those lenses the converter ones? If so, you may not need them for the 30mm FL.
" R1 has two lens options: a 30mm f/3.5 macro and a 24mm f/8 for panoramic shots. Unfortunately, there isn’t quite enough room for two actual lenses inside the slim body. Instead, toggling the switch on the back of the camera to “P” brings down shutters that physically crop the frame and setting it to “WIDE P” engages a mechanism that inserts more lens elements that “convert” the 30mm into the 24mm. that is actually logical answer, why would lens elements be loose otherwise? _________________ (my normal account password still on another computer) |

I had to take the lens apart to remove those two elements that flip in to make it a 24mm, to remove the shutter blades and disable the front doors.
After removing all that, you are left with a 4e/4g lens, but in my case, the middle two elements and the spacers for them have fallen out of the barrel and I don't know which way round they go back in. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

Sounds like it shares its lens design with a Rollei Prego Micron which has a Schneider-Kreuznach AF-Curtagon 1:3.5 30mm

Came across this design, I don't know if it's related.

I was also searching for 4/4 lens designs and found this

The Prego Micron is the same camera, just rebadged.
I don't think the lens has a gauss layout, the two elements are very dissimilar, one being much thicker than the other.
It's an interesting lens design, the rear element is a plastic asphere, which is something I have only seen before in APS film cameras. It concerns me that this lens won't work on digital - the centre will be fine but the edges will be a smeary mess. I say this because that's what you get with the APS fixed camera lenses, many moons ago I took the 24mm from a Canon IXUS and mounted it on my NEX and the edges were awful, unusable.
I'll try to get this Ricoh lens back together and try it on a camera. I'll make a sketch of the lens layout to make things clearer.
Cheers! _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |
