Hi MFlenses readers,

over the past weeks, I put together a non-profit site with solid, comparable lens reviews and general info on vintage Minolta SR mount lenses on NEX / alpha that just went live yesterday:

vintagelensreviews.com

Have a look and let me know, what you think!

EDIT: Now with RSS feed. Subscribe and keep up to date!

In the first post on this site you can't post photos or links (anti-spam).
The link doesn't work. Please re-post the link.

Hi,

I've just added the MC W.Rokkor-HG 35 mm f/2.8 and the MC Macro Rokkor 50 mm f/3.5. There's also two new lens correction profiles.

The Macro Rokkor is an interesting lens, but a little hard to focus on the NEX in my opinion. The MC 35 mm f/2.8 is an unremarkable piece of glass. Didn't impress me much - in contrast to the MC 35 mm f/1.8, which really did Very Happy

I've added the Sony SEL50F18 yesterday, so you can now compare the vintage 50 mm lenses to an excellent and quite popular modern one Smile

Hi everyone,

I've recently added reviews of the Sigma 19 mm f/2.8 EX DN E and the Minolta MD 2x Tele Converter 300-S (in conjunction with a MC Rokkor-PG 50 mm f/1.4). Have a look Smile

And two more:

Minolta MD 50 mm f/1.7
Minolta MC Rokkor-PF 58 mm f/1.4

Fresh reading material:

Vivitar (Komine) Series 1 70-210 mm f/2.8-4.0 Macro Focusing Zoom
Minolta MD Zoom 70-210 mm f/4.0 (MD-III)
Minolta MD Zoom 35-70 mm f/3.5 Macro (MD-III)

I also have a small comparison in the works with the Lens Turbo II and three 50s (MC-II 58 mm f/1.4, MC 50 mm f/1.4, MD-I 50 mm f/1.4). This will take another week or so, because the Lens Turbo jams the aperture lever on the MC Rokkor-PG... Rolling Eyes

OK, so this has taken longer than expected, but I finished the Lens Turbo II comparison shots:

Zhongyi Lens Turbo II with Minolta MC 58 mm & MD 50 mm lenses

The 50 mm MC Rokkor-PG f/1.4 didn't make it to the comparison because of the aperture problem, so I just went a little crazy and used my MD-II 50 mm f/1.2 instead Very Happy

Hi again,

the latest reviews offer some fresh insights into the Vivitar Series 1 and allow two Minolta-Minolta comparisons:

Vivitar (Komine) Series 1 200 mm f/3.0 Auto Telephoto
Minolta MD Tele Rokkor 135 mm f/2.8 (MD-II)
Minolta MD W.Rokkor-X 35 mm f/2.8 (MD-II)

Just a short info: I've made the old-school RSS feed accessible. Subscribe and keep up to date! Very Happy

Okay, the latest additions are

Minolta MD W.Rokkor 35 mm f/1.8 (MD-II)
Tamron Adaptall-2 135 mm f/2.5 Close Focus (03B)
Sony SEL35F18 35 mm f/1.8 OSS

The frequency of reviews is slowing down a bit. Mainly, it's because the lenses that i'd like to review next are the rare ones... Wink

Quick update:

There's one fresh review (MC Tele Rokkor 200 mm f/4.5) and a new category: Articles. "Articles" is meant for "everything not review" and will hopefully be filled with interesting posts over time. Or it won't - depending on my level of motivation Wink

It's been a while, but I got some interesting stuff on my hands: A 3D-printed focus ring grip for the MC 35 mm f/1.8 and I finally got a hold of the MC Rokkor-PG 58 mm f/1.2 !
