Hi folks.

Following another recent post of mine, I've managed to mostly dismantle my new-to-me Mir-47K. I've removed all of the front element groups, and the rearmost group, but the next one at the rear will only pull up a couple of millimetres before it sticks. I'm using a suction tool with a fair amount of suction, but it's not moving any further, though it's clearly not physically attached - it just jams on its way out of the inner barrel.

Can anyone advise on how I might remove this rear group? I'm thinking that heating the barrel with a hair dryer might work by expanding the metal ever so slightly. Is that a good idea, or are there better ways?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Smile

Try wiggling it as you pull on it.

Thanks Smile

In fact, I tried wiggling it but it was jammed pretty solid. In the end, I used a hair dryer to gently heat the barrel in which the element was stuck. Using the suction tool and wiggling it at the same time, I eventually got the group out, leaving two others still to remove. Both of those were also stuck, but I was able to push those out gradually using wooden cocktail sticks poked through the diaphragm. It took an hour or more to get them out!! :p
