Picked up this Acer monitor (unfortunately my wife went nuts when she saw it, so I gave it to her).
Acer AL2416WBSD 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor - 5ms, 1000:1, WUXGA 1920x1200, DVI, VGA
Setup was a total breeze. Make sure your video will support 1920x1200.
I have very nice Dell 19 inch standard LCD monitor. But once I put an image onto the 24 inch screen...HER 24 inch screen....well let's just say that now I have save up for ME.
Bought with PayPal through Buy.com. They beat any eBay prices by a mile! $289 with free shipping!
Just a heads-up for anyone considering one of these beautiful monitors. _________________

How is it qualitywise? Sounds like a bargain, but does it perform? _________________ My Flickr - Takumar.org

I'll give you a rundown on "real world" experience soon. I'll be calibrating with Spyder's LCD Adobe 1989 RGB specs, as those are what seem to work well for matching print jobs.
I'm not a big game fan, but I ran Unreal II as a demo at 1920x1200 and had no problems with shadowing or pixel-shades, so the 5ms response seems to be very adequate for high-end games, in conjunction with the current "mid range" GeForce 6200 card. Anti-aliasing was "off" only because the video card won't handle that kind of task. The SIZE of the gaming just about blew me out of the room! Of course, when you are a 60 year old guy trying to play Unreal, that's bound to happen.
I had read reviews about banding and sometimes a blank pixel, but not the case with this one. We'll see when I order the next one for my own use.
Text is as crisp as I would ever want, I can put up 3 Word documents side-by-side at 73% page view.
The monitor was way too bright at default, so I toned it down to 75% Brightness and 83% Contrast. The monitor REALLY is nice in a sunlit room, which to me is a huge plus. The bright sun didn't degrade the view at all for me.
Again, as soon as calibrated to Adobe, I'll post back on here.
Cheers! Laurence _________________
