I shot these in less than 4 seconds using expired Portra 160VC and above
setup. Aperture priority, matrix metering and this is just practice for a
wedding I have to do next spring. I will most probably get the Canon G11
for backup as I also have designated flashes for Canon. And of course
I plan on using both my Koni Omegas.

here goes and there was no time to check with the Electronic Rangefinder:

Shot wide open at f4.

I know, not ideal lighting. Laughing These are scans done at home on Epson 4490.

For that kind of speed the results are very good. Of course the 105/4 was not really intended for this kind of portraiture, but seems to do very well at it. I was unhappy with what I saw of it as a macro lens Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I'm not sure to understand, Bill. Have you found a way to mount a Nikkor lens on the Koni Omega?

In any case the portraits are quite sharp, and I disagree about the bad lighting, I find it actually very nice!

Patrick, Chris, and Orio, thanks for your comments. I had a thought that
maybe these should have gone in the TLR/SLR section, being just
practice shots.

Orio, these were with the Nikon F4s, not one of the Koni. I haven't even
scratched the surface of what this camera can do, still just playing around
in Aperture Priority mode. These shots are uncropped and I was shooting
single shot mode and am amazed how fast the film advance is. I could
have shot these in not much over a second if I could focus that fast. lol

Thanks, again.

BTW, Patrick, I've been happy with mine in close-ups for flowers:

using Nikon F/Portra 160VC film

That is certainly a lovely flower shot and there is nothing wrong with it. I was actually confusing the 105/2.8 micro which has a distinct tendency to large CA. It was IMHO one of the few cases where nikon's development was backwards.

Yes, and practice makes perfect, or in my case, a little more proficiency.

Or so I hope...

I always like your results and this set is no exception (especially the flower shot). If Jesus was a photographer then he would definitely use film Smile

Just out of curiosity: who is the embarrassed guy you seem to shoot on an almost daily basis? Laughing

He's a retired schoolteacher that works in the music store where I have
a shop. I work as a consultant for the company which is a 5-store chain.
He's my practice test dummy and his wife likes the pictures I email to
them. She works for NASA and even with his teacher's retirement and
what he makes as a salesman, her salary is more than triple his. Laughing

He has a florid complexion, not embarrassment. Wink

I tell him I paste these shots up on several gay dating sites, just to put
his mind at ease. Laughing Yeah, he knows. Wink

Laughing You have a great sense of humor Bill! But...more than that, your images ALWAYS blow me away. Wow, what nice exposures in 4 seconds!

Laurence, thanks for the kind words, much appreciated!

I try not to envy your surroundings: I do a lot of hiking, but the vistas don't compare.
