Are the Tamron lens compatible with both the original Adaptall and later Adaptall 2 mounts? If not what improvement did the Adaptall 2 mount provide?

Thanks,

John

You can get some info here..

What I have read... Adaptall mount had Auto/Manual switch, but that was making the coupling un-reliable.
Adaptall-2 is reliable and no A/M switch..

You can find some (lot of) info here...

I just found the pnet forum entry before I read your reply. Sounds like the Tamron web site you supplied will be more helpful.

Thanks,

John

Hi John. The person to ask is our member TamronSP (aka Michael) who I think is the author of all the information on the Adaptall-2 site. You can send him a private message using the link on this forum here:

I may be wrong but I think Adaptall-2 was introduced to provide compatability with a larger range of lenses in terms of communicating lens aperture settings between lens and camera. At present I only use M42 mounts with M42/EOS adapters on the 400D so I have no personal experience of this aspect.
