The seller says the lens linked below was used on Leicaflex SL. It a Leica Elmarit-R f2.8 90mm. Can the Leica-R to EOS adapter be used on this one. What is the thing that looks like lens cap at the bottom? My knowledge of Leica lens is absolutely zero, except that my photojournalist ex-student says they are the best.

That's just the base of the container it comes in. There's a bayonet socket in the base to hold the lens. _________________ Dave

Yes, no problem on EOS.
You would not be able to mount this lens on a Leica R3 camera or later. _________________ _
