Just bought this lens from the bay for 21euro but had stuck focusing and aperture ring.
Dismantled most of it but I can't get to the blades, there is still a glass element on each side of the aperture blades mechanism and can't proceed from here.
There are small openings for unscrewing on both sides but they do not move and don't even know how to rotate to unscrew.

Thanks, I found the complete diagram http://olympus.dementia.org/Hardware/PDFs/50mm_f1.4.pdf
As I suspected both parts must be unscrewed, but they are too tight, and still the direction of screw is not explained.
Many thanks. _________________ My site motorai.ro as motorcycle addict, I post on the blog of the site.

I used WD-40 and after a strong push on the front part it started moving.
Success I took everything apart except for one lens element still screwed to the inner focusing tube, but at least I can clean everything and grease.
The glass is in perfect shape, so if i get the mechanical part working I get a decent Olympus for 38eur including transport hope the price is right.
Will post images as soon as I finish reassembly.
Thanks. _________________ My site motorai.ro as motorcycle addict, I post on the blog of the site.

Hey, sorry to resurrect this but I have the same problem, I came in from the top of the lens, and I can get the first 2 elements out, and then I reach element # 3 and there seems to be no way to get it out... now up at the top there is two little notches that look like I could take the whole thing out, but they dont move... in your pictures, the first one, you can see the 2 notches I speak of, ad it appears you are a the same point I am in this photo... the two notches I speak of in your picture #1 look like you have tried wrenching on them... are those the ones you got to turn finally with some wd-40? and if so were they normal thread or reverse?
