My question is simple: are there any prime lenses with filter thread (if available) which rotates during focusing?
I guess NO, based on the following:
There are 5 main focusing methods:
1. overall linear extension - the filter thread never rotates
2. front group linear extension - the filter thread never rotates
3. front group rotational extension - the filter rotates, but this focusing method is mainly used with zoom lenses. I never heard of prime lenses using this focusing method
4. internal focusing - the filter thread never rotates
5. rear focusing - the filter thread never rotates

what do you think?

I guess YES.

Why you want to know, please?

I just checked a few of the lenses from my collection and found two primes where the filter thread rotates when focusing: Minolta 24/2.8 and Minolta 20/2.8, both MD-II.
