Hi,
according to this web site: http://stephen-westin.com/misc/mounts-by-register.html the Praktina mount has a longer flange to mount distance than the Nikon F mount. That means that I can mount a Praktina lenses (I have in mind in particular the Biotar 75/1.5) while preserving the ability to focus at infinity.

Correct? Is anybody using Praktina lenses on Nikon? If yes can you recommend me an adapter?
By the way, provided the above is possible, which lenses Praktina lenses, apart the Biotar, would you recommend?

Cheers.

I suppose it should be possible to use the Praktina lenses on a Nikon F mount body but I've never seen an adapter advertised - although that doesn't mean they don't exisit. I think that given the locking system of the Praktina and the relatively small number of its lenses in circulation it's never been a commercial proposition to make them in quantity. However, given the high cost of ant 75/1.5 Biotar, you may judge it worthwhile investigating getting one specially made. Certainly an interesting project.

FFD is important but diameter is the key! also breech lock make things complicated. but you can replace the lens mount instead of using adapter. it would be much easier.

Thanks. I knew the one for Fuji. I sent the seller an email yesterday to understand how the "close focus" capability works. Apparently it is not an helicoid, here is his answer:
"Its not helical. It is set of 2 counter rings. Once you get your desired size, you can turn the second ring and it freezes there"

I do not understand exactly how that works, do you think it has optical elements in it?

No, no reason to have optical elements in it and if it did, it would be much more expensive.
