Shot a portrait of Gramps yesterday in his studio/loft.
He is a talented artist and a really great guy. 85 years young!
Sharp as a tack too.
This was the first high speed (400 NC) color negative film that I've shot in 20+ years. It was a free sample from Kodak. Not bad but I wouldn't shoot it again.
I was at the bottom of what I like to hand-hold at. Even had to take my 81a filter off.
These were taken with my dear love, Rolleiflex 2.8C @ 2.8 and a half, 1/50th. |

Mark, does your Rollei have the Planar lens? Both these are excellent, very
saturated colors and would think this 400VC, not NC.
He looks in fine fettle for 85!
75 hits and no replies, it gets lonely around here at times.
These would have been so much better if taken with a Mamiyaflex, j/k. |

Nice pictures, but you seem to be disturbing him from his work? Or is he posing on your request?
I would be curious too if someone tried to make a picture of me with such a beautifull classic camera ! But no one does .
What is wrong with the Kodak film for you? |

Sorry all, I lost track of this!
Katastrofo, it has the Xenotar. Sharp lens. It is actually the 400 NC, not VC, but perhaps I curved the top image a tad too much!
LucisPictor, Minolfan, I'm used to shooting transparency film, Astia, Provia. While I rated it at 200 ISO, it seems too grainy to me. That said, I almost never shoot over 100 speed film these days.
Minolfan, oh he was totally posing for me.
shauttra, yes, he does have a great studio.
It says a lot about him too that after his wife passed away, he decided to move to the heart of a big city and live in a loft. Very much an artist. |

Well, you won't have to worry about using any *new* Portra 400NC or VC,
either. Now it is just Portra 400, new formula. |
