Hello all! This my first post here. I've been a photographer since 1972 and I have a full darkroom in my house. I shoot a lot of film and I also do digital. Medium format film is my passion.

I just picked up a Piesker Tele-Picon 180mm f/5.5 pre-set lens in a mount for the Hasselblad 1600F/1000F. I love that it used Series VI filters as I already have what I need. I had one of these when I was using a Hasselblad 1000F in 1976-77. Sold it off in 1978 having purchased a 500C/M. The serial number is 15886.

1. Anyone know when these were made? I know Piesker sold them in the 60's for the Hasselblad 1600/1000F but not sure when they started and stopped.

2. I can't find any serial number lists for Piesker. Do any exist?

3. Is there any significance to the red V on the lens barrel?

4. When did Piesker shut down?

My plan for this 180mm Tele-Picon is to have it CLA'd and then send it to SK Grimes for remounting for my Hasselblad 2000FC/M cameras.

With an adapter I have I will also be able to use it on my Mamiya 645 1000s cameras. I also have a Mamiya 645 adapter for the Canon EOS cameras so I will be able to use it om my film EOS 650 & Rebel S cameras. I also have an EOS to 4/3s adapter so I will use it on my Olympus E-5 4/3 digital camera. And I can use it on m43 should I ever get one Smile ! One lens, five camera systems. Not bad for an old manual lens.

Now I wonder if it would cover 6x7? My Pentax 6x7 feels left out Smile

Ah, that's why I didn't see my photo. Thanks!

I don't recall exactly what the formula is for the 180mm. Perhaps someone here might know. I last used the 180mm Piesker in late 1977 and chanced upon this one on eBay. Made an offer ($100) and it's here! I know that is a bit high for the 180mm but it's in the factory mount for the 1600/1000F Hasselblad. A 135mm Ektar for the 1000F is now in the $1,000 range.

Heck, I might just track down a 135mm Piesker as well. I have a 1980's Pentacon 300mm f/4 pre-set that I had re-mounted for my Hasselblad 2000FC/M in the 90's so I won't need the 250mm f/5.5 Piesker.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Here is a post on this forum with a little more info and some pics of the Piesker's I have in my collection. Interestingly enough they have an interchangeable lens mount. I have mounts for LTM, M42, classic Exakta, and the Hasselblad screw mount you have on yours.

http://forum.mflenses.com/piesker-lens-early-t-mount-system-t41396,highlight,%2Bpiesker.html

The Vade Mecum lists a little bit of info on Piesker.

Paul Piesker, Berlin, Germany.
This brand is scarce/unknown in the UK and seems to have lacked an importer, but rather specialized in sales
in Germany and USA. It was regularly listed in the USA in the 1960's. A possible explanation was that they
were a source of agents label lenses in the UK. One noted in the UK seems to be a prewar lens for a Bentzin
Primareflex so they were apparently active pre-WW2 and this is in keeping with one report which added they
were a relatively small firm. Other notes have allowed more of the production to be collected here. Lenses
were often listed without a makers name and it has been difficult to recognize some of the products eg Voss
and Votar, so the products were listed in several places in Vademec 2 as a result. Initially Piesker was noted
for a TelePicon, f5.5, 180-250mm and other long lenses. (Modern Photo 08/1964, p57). In fact the range
seems to have been a quite extensive one. [The presence of 'Astra' names* here may be in error or suggest a
link with Astro also of Berlin.]
Piconar f4.5 40mm same fitting
*Astra f3.5 100mm
*Tele-Astra f5.5 250mm
Picon f2.0 85mm
Picon f3.5 100mm
Picon f3.5 135mm
Tele-Picon f5.5 250mm
Tele-Picon f5.5 180mm
Votar f3.5 135mm
Voss f3.5 135mm This was used as a bellows lens for M39 (Leica type) cameras.
Tele-Votar f5.5 250mm
Votar f2.8 100mm
Voss f5.5 400mm
Tele-Voss no data
Kalimar f3.5 135mm
M.J.Small shows an advert. with the f2.8/100mm Voss; f3.5/135mm Votar and f55/180mm TeleVotar all
uncoupled and a f4.0/250mm for Viso use. Also f4.5/400 and f3.5/400mm, but although these were said to
adapt to Leica, the means is not specified, but probably was also Viso.

They are capable of nice results!

Enjoy,

Paul
