Hi there,

I recently bought a lens off eBay, M42 mount Pentacon 200mm f/4.

When i'm focusing, the lens makes an odd grinding noise. I'm not sure what it is exactly, never had this issue before.
I'm using it on a Canon 5dmk2, wioth a Big_Is chipped adapter.

Anyone have any ideas? Is it a defect? It seems fine besides that. I wrote to the seller but they haven't responded yet.

Here's the original listing.

If you're unhappy then arrange to return it, alternatively you may consider cleaning the focus helicoid of any grit etc that's found a way into it, have a look here http://forum.mflenses.com/disassmbly-of-pentacon-200mm-f4-mc-t27210.html you'll find another link in the thread, also worth spending a little time in that section as there is a lot of helpful stuff in there

I wasn't disrespecting the seller or anything, I was more concerned that it might have been an unfixable defect and/or damaging the lens.

Good to know it might just be some grit, thanks a heap for the link!
