Hi there -- shooting our christmas tree --
Let's do some quiz - please tell me, if you see any difference between the QUALITY of the picture 1 and 2
There are 2 pictures taken by 2 different lenses = Pancolar 1.8/50 and Carl Zeiss Makro-Planar 2.8/60..
n1 --- which lens is this one ?
n2 --- which lens is this one?
happy new year 2009

Pretty impossible mission to find out which one for sure. Orio did it already best CZ vs some Russian. I wasn't sure at all which one is.
I guess second is Macro lens. _________________ -------------------------------

The second string shows more glare/glow. It's typical for Pancolar at f/1.8, but I have no experience with macro Planar, so it's only my poor tip _________________ (almost) complete list of Helios lenses |

Thanks guys for looking
Here is the result promised to be announced today
1. picture was taken by Carl Zeiss Makro-Planar 2.8/60
2. picture was taken by Pancolar 1.8/50 Aus Jena -- (zebra version)
I would add -- I bought Pancolar because of Attila's reference ! -- It's an excellent glass...
Both pictures at f/8 + flash -- hand held ... sharpness in camera at level 0 -- It was adjusted in Light Room -- no too much..

because I feel (2) get clearer in edge than (1), and (2) get more color.

Quite a performance from the Pancolar, given how close it is to the Makro Planar, which is well known for its sharpness and other attributes. When price goes into the equation.....

I don't have any of these lenses, so there is no chance for me to tell.
I guessed that the second one was the Macro-Zeiss, because I thought I saw a tiny bit more details. But then, I would not have bet on it. _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!
