I own the Panasonic version, it was my first 'proper' digi cam and still chugs along in it's own way. Now, the lens is pretty good to boot so I'm wondering if anyone here has managed to salvage a lens from the body after it has died? I'm led to believe that lens and sensor are one unit but theoretically speaking, is it possible? It seems a great shame to discard such a fine lens although the format design restrictions may be too small to be of much use. Does anyone think this could work or even tried something similar? Could it be used on 4/3 camera bodies?

I doubt it will work because that 2/3" sensor inside is more than twice smaller than m4/3 one.
There will be a lot of vignetting at least if there won't be a circular "fisheye" view.
