Olympus has a brilliant line of lenses for the PEN series half frame cameras. Has anyone heard of any mount conversions for cropped cams? It seems as though they should work with the 4/3 system. Idea Mostly just curios. Question

Well I guess nevermind Embarassed I find this was a RF system. Today I looked thrue the portfolio of a new friends work and she has many beautiful shots taken with a Olympus Pen and lenses. I did not have a lot of awareness of this system. Apperently it was a quite high quality but short lived system. If anyone has something to add from experience please do. Smile I will try and get a link to my new friends work if there is one.

Olympus Pen F was a nice SLR with a register distance of 28.95 mm.

I used a PEN FT for 12 years, and apart from the metering arrangement, it is a wonderful camera, good lenses.

Due to the small register distance, these lenses won't get infinity focus if mounted on a full size SLR. On the other hand, I recall there were adapters to mount OM lenses on the PEN.

I have only one experience with the Pen F. It was with the zoom 50-90.

Very good lens. It remind me the 70/75-150 in 35mm.

If I don't remember wrong, the f (FT and FV) had two normals (38 F/1,8, 40 F/1,2 or 1,4) three or four wide (my wife used the 25/4 with five elements, it was good), a pretty line of portrait lenses (60, 70 mm F/ 1,8 and F/2) and teles to 600 or 800 mm.

I lost the information long time ago. Sorry.

The Pen F lenses way may be very good for me.

If interested, I have the manual, and if it has the lens line up I'll scan and post.

The Pen F lenses are quite good and would cover the APS frame; but unfortunately the Pen body was much thinner than any DSLR and so they cannot be adapted......
