This is one of the all time great cameras. Operation is smoother and slicker than any Nikon or Pentax, or even other Olympus models except for the OM1/2 and OM1n (the Minolta SRT's come pretty close). My OM2n gives perfect automatic exposures down to shutter speeds of 185 seconds, which allows outdoor photography at midnight with a 400/6.3 lens on a 2x teleconverter (yes, I've done it). Olympus' TTL flash also lets you use strobe at any aperture with fast film, which gives tremendous reach with a lens like the Soligor 200/2.8 wide open. One of the slickest things about the OM2/2n though is that when in manual mode the finder display changes and it becomes identical to the OM1 in handling. Also, the camera still works when shut off: when the mirror goes up it turns on the OTF metering system, which controls the shutter for a correct exposure and then shuts itself off again (slow speeds are limited to 1/30 second when "off" to prevent accidental long exposures in the camera bag). Almost all accessories (lenses, backs, motors, finder screens) are interchangeable among all single-digit OM cameras; the -n series accept only the Shoe 4 flash shoe.

The differences between the OM2 and OM2n are a ready light in the -n finder, the shutter defaults to 1/60 when the dedicated flash recycles, and there are stainless steel reinforcements in the strap lugs.

To get the benefit of the TTL flash functions, get an Olympus T32 flash. It's also a lighter and more compact package that puts less strain on the removable flash shoe (the weak link in the OM system) than the tall Vivitar units.

Congratulations, Attila! That's a real bargain. The lens alone is worth €50,- at least and the cam is well known for it's great performance.
Actually, if I saw one of those for such a good price, I would not hesitate.

T20 is fine, gives you TTL operation, smaller, lighter, but less power and does not have a bounce head. If you expect to use it much, the bounce head and extra power are worth the additional cost and weight.

The real benefits of TTL flash, besides being able to shoot wide open with fast lenses and film, is in macro: normal auto flashes are pretty useless in macro because the sensor misses the subject. In macro, though, the flash will miss the subject too unless you can bounce it. This setup with a T32 gives excellent macro results most of the time: http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/index-82.html

My comparison between the OM1-OM2 series and Nikon (based on Nikon F, Nikkormat and FM2) is that the Nikons feel like a piece of fine machinery and the OMs are more like jewelry. Both function very well, and the Nikons have an unmistakeable feel of solidity to them ... but they do not have the smoothness and quietness of the OMs. It's a slightly different interpretation of precision.

Among Canons, the one that has impressed me most has been the EF from 1974... it feels almost identical to a Nikkormat or FM2, smoother than other contemporary Canons like the FTb.

it's not quiet like a Leica M3 or anything.... but it (along with the OM1) was by far the quietest SLR ever made in its day, and I don't think it was really matched until the AF era with motor-driven mirrors and stuff like that..... surely it's a lot quieter than my FM2N.
