Just acquired one for testing the M42 lenses that dont work too well on my Nikon D200. I felt infinity focus was worth the $180 I am paying for it - reconditioned from Olympus direct. I cannot afford full frame digital and I am not ready to go back to film Embarassed Embarassed so this looked like a good interim move

Congrats, you did a good deal. I was after one of those (to get a "compact" DSLR with the Industar 50) and in eBay are selling over $250... and there are not too many of them available.
Enjoy it!
Best regards,
Jes.

Bill has this camera for long time ago,he love it. I also asked him to try to get it for me under 220 USD, because I can't bid on Olympus auctions. I look forward so much mine.

Poilu

They have an ebay shop http://stores.ebay.com/Olympus-Auctions They only sell to the US. It took some patience and I missed on six before I got this one. Every so often it seems the buyers miss one.

Attila - they have ranged as low as $170 and as high as 240. But there seems to be a consistent supply of them.

Bill try to hunting down to me one with same tactics. Now you need to buy a split screen or a Russian focus confirmation adapter , because viewfinder is pretty dark and focus confirmation is disabled with manual lenses. I suggest to buy focus confirmation adapter (I will do this one)

Arrives tomorrow apparently. Then I have to wait for my first adapter to arrive

Patrick, I finally got one for Attila for $195. I missed an auction by seconds that went for $173 as I remember. Mad Then the next 7-8 auctions
were all over $200 ($228 was the highest).

Hope you enjoy your e300!

Bill

Bill

That's a thoroughly good price. I have mine all charged up and nowhere to go until the adapter arrives - I hope in the next couple of days. Then I can try the M42 lenses I have - especially the Flek 35/2.4 I got from Attila.

Bill, you got a nice price!!
I've been tracking the E-300 recently for the case I could find a cheap body (no lenses) and prices are rising alot.
The last one I was bidding ended short ago at a puzzling price of 316€...
Click here to see on Ebay
My higuest bid was 110€...
At that prices I think I'll get the Pentax K100D for 379€ (brand new, under full warranty).
Best regards,
Jes.

Bob: nobody likes a show-off! Laughing Gorgeous photo, even the second
time around! Wink

Jes, prices are bound to fall after Christmas, but decided to go ahead
and get one for Attila's girls when the circumstance finally presented one
under $200-(girls no matter what age, don't thrive on disappointment! Laughing ).

If you could wait till January, I could get one for you the same way as
Attila, up to you. Would be considerably cheaper than the Pentax.

You should have it at least a week maybe 10 days before Christmas, or
I post negative feedback to seller! Evil or Very Mad

Bill / Attila

I found they shipped very promptly with two day delivery. Certainly beat my adapter by a few days. It's a neat looking machine. AndBil is quite right about the prices. I shall wait too -since my son-in-law asked me to hunt one for him.

Thanks a lot Bill, not in a hurry anyway... I've a lot of work to do with the rangefinders yet. Yes, can wait until January without problems.

Best regards,
Jes.

I thought I'd shove it back in to give Patrick some idea of what he can expect ....

Would you believe that there are outsiders who doubt the quality of this lens? Shocked

Jes,
I'm confident of finding one at a very good price come January. I'll keep
you informed. I don't know why these cams are going for what a point
and shoot costs, but I think it's because people have a problem with how
they look. To me, I could care less, performance is everything.

@Bob: yes, amazing what people think of old manual focus lenses...their
loss is our gain! Wink
