Orio I bought a Flektogon 4/20 Exakta lens almost looks like leatherette finish, but no leatherette finish just simple black.

I am watching one. Price is still low...

BTW, I have just ordered a book about Zeiss history, in which all lenses (even the prototypes) between 1912 and 1990 are described. It will be published sometime in October, so I shall get it in some weeks...

And I have ordered a fantastic (hopefully!) CD-ROM that contains hundreds of thousands pieces of information (tables, tests, data etc.) about cams and lenses. Surely will be a good source for unknown details.
This CD-ROM will be here this week, I guess.

And I am waiting for an original Zeiss catalogue in which all "modern" Zeiss lenses are described. Should be here within days.

Why Zeiss? Because the history is so interesting and many lenses follow designs that was invented by Zeiss, thus is makes sense even if I only have a couple of Zeiss or directly Zeiss influenced lenses.

(And Leica books are really expensive. Wink)

Could you please share information about those book? Titles, authors, publishers...

I thought that this would be interesting for you, Orio. Wink

The Zeiss history book is written by a "Hartmut Thiele" who has written several books on lens and camera history. He publishes his books privately, but you can order the books (only in German) at Lindemanns:
http://www.lindemanns.de/

Click on the American flag and type "thiele" in the field next to "start search" button, then click on this button and you see all his books.
He also has written a 3-volume-edition about Zeiss.

This is the CD-ROM: http://www.ffsteimer.de/

About the Zeiss catalogue I do not have information yet, got it cheaply on ebay. But I will tell you as soon as I get it.

Laughing That's why I decided to buy the small edition which consists rather of stories and anecdotes than of tables. Wink
