Interesting, I hadn't seen a 1000mm version of the Old Delft or Oude Delft mirror lenses before, just 400, 450, 500 and 600mm Fototel variants. I haven't seen many reports of people using those either. The thread Klaus refers to is about a Fototel lens with fungus and less than stellar performance.
Anyway, google books led me to "Die wissenschaftliche und angewandte Phographie" Springer Verlag Wien 1955. This lists 6 De Oude Delft mirror lenses:
Fototel TD50 50cm 1:6.3 for 24*36mm cameras
Delca TE100 100cm 1:7 for 4.5*6.5cm Agiflex camera
Delca TC100 100cm 1:8 for 18*24mm cameras
Delca TD100 100cm 1:7 for 24*36mm cameras
Delca TC200 200cm 1:14 for 18*24mm cameras
Delca TD200 200cm 1:14 for 24*36mm cameras
The ebay listing shows a box with in its lid a label referring to an Agiflex camera, so in all likelihood the lens is a Delca TE100.
De Oude Delft have produced some interesting lenses, for the military and industry as well as consumer lenses for Alpa cameras f.i. Collectors pay high prices for some of them.
This mirror lens is certainly fascinating. Whether it is worth that price I cannot say but how many other 1000mm f/7 mirror lenses do you know of? The quoted weight of 15 pounds may be a challenge, but it appears to be a completely different lens than the lightweight Fototels. |
