Haven't posted in a while, and have missed you guys. My work is starting to ease off now, so I'm hoping to process more film images.

Typical colors of Provia - very true to original scene, and no garish greens or yellows, which can sometimes be a problem with Velvia.

No alterations to the image other than cropping. The Provia renders the blues in the river a bit too strong when shooting laterally to the sunlight, but all other colors are true.

I fooled around with the shadows before finally settling on keeping it original out of the camera. I really love the unheralded 55/2.8 lens.

Yes indeed, nice to see you here again Laurence! I certainly have missed your wonderful photo posts.

Very nicely done photo; I too can sense the high altitude fresh air and light, not so easy to capture imho. Also the enormity of that landscape. Fabulous! Thanks for sharing.

Welcome back!

Welcome back! I was wondering where you were.
Your skills haven't rusted Smile great scenery!

Maybe (surely) it's a stupid comment, but the mountain makes me think of a Friesland Cow Embarassed Smile

What a nice welcome! I appreciate the kind words. My work has
been insane; however, I do love my work, so I am lucky in
that respect.

I did get away to British Columbia's Coastal Range, flying in by
float plane. It was an eerie experience when the plane left and all
was silent except for the roar of the streams cascading from
the glaciers. The only Grizzly Bear I saw was a long distance away
- and that's a GOOD thing!

I have been perusing the forum, and I must say that the images
are mind-blowing from all you people! I can't hope to comment on
all of them, but I'll comment on new ones as they come up. I am
hoping to have more time now, and thus be able to keep visiting
the forum that I love.

Oh...I am still using the CV Apo-Lanthar 90/3.5 SL that was
graciously given to me by a forum member. Also, I have the
Sonnar 180/2.8 on order. Looking forward to that lens.

Larry

I'm jealous!
Not only for the photo, but also because you were there to feel this place...

I have stuck among tons of cement for months.
But the red-yellow October is coming fast, and I've saved all my holiday for it Smile

Another good one, Larry.
No firearms amongst your group?

Hi Fish: No firearms. If I had a firearm, especially a pistol, I would
probably end up shooting myself! However, we DID have very
highly-rated Grizzly spray which has been proven in Alaska to
stop Grizzlies for a few minutes, allowing enough time to (hopefully)
get away from the bear.
