Hi,

I recently tested this funny soviet lens. Master adapted it with an helicoidal and M42, so it's very pleasant to use.
Rendering is very typical to monocle, but this one still sharp enough in center. Maybe because this lens is born as a monocle (it's not monocle made of an element extracted from another lens).

Like 1 can be quite some fun, made one for me, a f1.0/25mm with aperture.

Is it sharp in center too?
I didn't see the point to add diaphragme since it won't increase the sharpness outside of the sharp center (pretty little area).

Nice! This is the first time I hear the 'monocle' name.

I'll show you....

Place Stanislas in Nancy / France

Open vs. stopped down

Sharpness and the useful center field increases considerably with stopping down, alas on my f1.0 lens

Nicely done!
The rendering looks similar to that given by an old brass framed magnifying glass I found recently at my parents house. I was wondering if it was worth trying it out for photography - If these are anything to go by it looks like it will be Smile

Yes, it becomes sharper with diaphragm!

I still believe this lens has something more than a "simple" monocle. On A7.
