This was my first ebay lens purchase. All of my other old glass has been purchased at a local camera store. I was a little worried, but it came in fine condition.

This 50mm 1.4-S (69-73 vintage) beats my Vivitar Series 1 by about 10 years and my Nikkor macro by about 15 years. It's a Nikkor-S, which means non-AI (automatic indexing), which means it doesn't mount on any modern camera. Except the D40 and D40x.

Here's a few shots I've taken with it. So far, I've only moved the aperture away from 1.4 once. =)

This is one of the few non-1.4 shots I've taken. 1/4000, f11.

I love this lens. A bargain for $60USD shipped.

I've got a few more shots from this lens on my flickr stream.

ha! Maybe a Tessar. Maybe an 85mm 1.4. I've been trying on lots of old zoom lenses at the local camera shop. I tried an 80-200 f/2.8 1970s vintage Tameron this weekend. I liked it, but didn't come home with it...

Tamron SP 80-200 f2.8 still a highly rated lens what was cost in USD ?

I think the store wanted $200 for the 80-200. I'm not sure. They had a 28mm f/4 Nikkor-PC lens (perspective control) which was $350. THAT lens price stuck in my mind. It was too much fun to use, but I couldn't quite justify the $350.

By the way, I was recently allowed into an old building to take photos, the Route 66 Hostel here in Albuquerque. I had my 50mm f/1.4 mounted. There's about 15 shots on my flickr account in this set, but this is one of my favorites.

The set is worth a look if you like this lens.

I traced Tamron SP 80-200mm f2.8 lens 3-4 times, not very common lens. They went for $250-$300 . This is a nice shoot, you can't go wrong with any Nikkor Smile
