I already had the Nikkor-Q 135mm 3.5 (purchased from a nice Hungarian seller Wink ) which I like a lot: http://www.mflenses.com/gallery/v/mfl_club_members/richard_d/nikkor_3_5Q/

but when Atilla highlighted a 135mm Nikkor-Q 2.8 selling cheaply, I had to give it a go:

http://www.mflenses.com/gallery/v/mfl_club_members/richard_d/nikkor_q_135_2_8/

First impressions of the 2.8 are, basically - Wow! Pretty sharp at 2.8, then providing a perfect balance of infocus sharpness and bokeh at f4. Great performance down to f11, useable a f16, soft at f22.

Far contraster than the 3.5 and possibly a tad sharper. A stunning bargain at ?26...

That 135/2.8 range (which went through to the AIS version) was always overshadowed by the 105/2.5 - a pity in some ways because it is a very different but still wonderful lens. I find the 135 has nicer OOF rendition than the 105's, although a tad less sharp. Enjoy it, it's a very fine lens - and give us some samples.....

Thanks Richard - you show the 135/3.5 well. Hope you enjoy the 2.8 version at least as much
